Gratitude for the One Who Believes in Me Most

In every craft, every business, and every dream worth chasing, there’s always someone behind the scenes who makes the journey possible. For me, that person is my wife. Today, I wanted to share something more personal than leather, tools, or the latest project on the workbench—this is about gratitude, growth, and the kind of support that fuels everything I do.

My wife has believed in me long before the first piece of leather was cut, long before a shop name existed, and long before I ever imagined turning my ideas into a business. She saw the potential when all I could see were the early mistakes, the long nights, and the stacks of prototypes that didn’t quite work. She encouraged me when doubt tried to slow me down. And most importantly, she reminded me who I was when I forgot.

Building Laird’s Leather Lair has been one of the most rewarding challenges of my life—but it’s also been a leap of faith. Every entrepreneur knows that success doesn’t come with guarantees. What does make the difference is having someone who stands beside you when the outcome is uncertain. Someone who believes in the process, not just the finished product.

My wife does that for me.

She celebrates every win—big or small. She listens to my ideas, even the ones that sound wild at first. She’s patient during the late nights, supportive during the setbacks, and proud during the breakthroughs. And she never lets me forget that this journey isn’t just about making products; it’s about creating something meaningful for our family and for the people who trust me with their custom work.

I am thankful—deeply thankful—for her belief in me. Her confidence gives me the courage to grow this craft, push my skills further, and build something lasting. Every stitch, every pattern, every new design carries a piece of that belief.

If you’ve ever held one of my pieces or supported my shop, just know: a part of my wife’s heart is in it too. She is the quiet strength behind this entire journey, and I am endlessly grateful.

Here’s to the person who keeps me grounded, keeps me dreaming, and keeps me moving forward.

Thank you, Tracy. For everything.
